Post office working hours

Post office opening times are different. Some offices are open between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m., but delivery post offices are open around 7 a.m. daily.

 

Most of the offices are closed at 6 p.m. daily according to opening timing.

There is no fixed time allotted for lunch, but postal staff take a lunch break between 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. for half an hour.

Counter operations end after 6 hours from the counter's start time. For example, if the counter starts at 8 a.m., then the counter will be operational till 2 p.m.

Most of the post offices are closed on Sunday, but there are some dedicated post offices that are open on Sunday for letter booking services. In most cases, Head Post office counters are functional on Sunday only for booking letters.
